MEET YOUR GUIDES

Lead Guide: Julie Munro

Julie Munro is Faculty Emeritus at Prescott College. Julie served as a full-time Adventure Education Faculty for 35 years and still collaborates with the college on special projects. She is intimately familiar with the San Juan River and its natural history and loves sharing this environment with students across disciplines. In addition to loving outdoor pursuits and time in wild places, Julie enjoys teaching yoga and bringing that practice to the group experience.

"I love working with Prescott College students that are budding professionals and supporting them in the full process of offering these multi-day river trips. I look forward to this coming fall trip on the Upper San Juan River with interested, prospective students."

- Julie Munro

Student Guides

“I am beyond proud to be a student at Prescott College. I love the opportunity to choose classes that are experiential and immersed in the field. I chose my degree because I wanted to combine my love for recreating in the outdoors and sharing knowledge about the natural world. The professors at Prescott College have made me feel heard and seen, they are passionate people that share their love for the natural world with each student. Prescott College helped respark my love for learning and has taught me all the skills I need to be a lifelong learner.”

- Jaden Best

“Prescott has helped me see the world, and education, in a whole new light. Each class builds on the last, giving me deeper insight and perspective. More than that, it’s helped me find a strong, supportive community where people show up, ask meaningful questions, and grow together in amazing ways!”
